Welcome to our Kindergarten information website!
While we are implementing Teleschool, this will be your source of go-to information! We will update this website weekly with new lessons and resources for you to use at home. You can click on the "more" tab to see resources for each subject area. Seesaw will remain our method of independent student communication and where you will continue to post assignments that you have completed at home. Microsoft Teams will now be the only method of online meetings as deemed through Fulton County Schools.
If you have any questions, please e-mail your child's teacher. Happy learning!
Thank you,
MOE Kindergarten team

Invented SpellingWe have loved seeing the incredible progress our students have made with their writing abilities this year. With that said, as a gentle reminder to encourage your students to use invented spelling when doing their writing work, or any writing for that matter. They have learned many tools in reading/writing/phonics lessons to sound out words in different ways and to “catch” each sound that they hear. This just might mean that ball is spelled bol, or elephant is spelled elafint. This is one of the most important parts of the reading/writing/phonics process. Invented spelling is incredibly important and helps build not only their phonemic awareness, but their confidence and willingness to take risks in their writing. At this point in the year, students have learned all the vowel and consonant sounds and know that each word and syllable has at least one vowel. Students know to use robot talk to sound out small words or clap the syllables first in bigger words.
